HENRY EDMUND OLUFEMI ADEFOPE

Henry Edmund Olufemi Adefope, Statesman, astute military general, multi- talented sportsman, administrator, consummate diplomat and a child of God, was born in Kaduna on March 15th 1926 to Chief Nathaniel Oshokoya and Mrs Alice Arajonwo Adefope (nee Olukoga) both of Odogbolu, in Ogun State. His father was a First Class clerk, the equivalent of what is now known as Permanent Secretary and was the first Nigerian Head of Administration.

This book is the history of the life and time of Major-General (Dr) Henry Edmund Olufemi Adefope (1926-2012). It traces his roots to Ijebu Odogbolu in Ogun State and discusses the developments that shaped his life from his birth in Kaduna in 1926 and teenage years in Lagos. His second education at CMS Grammar School, Lagos was very eventful and the friendships cultivated in the Class of 44 of CMS remained evergreen for the rest of his life. University education at the University of Glasgow in Scotland impacted his life decisively and it was also during this period of his sojourn abroad that he got married to former Miss Dotun Adefarasin…
